NGE's Favorite Moments of 2018!

As we wrap up 2018 (how did that happen already?!), our hearts are full with all of our amazing weddings and events, photoshoots and collaborations, building relationships with the most humble and beautiful couples, and honored to work alongside some of our favorite talented friends in the wedding industry. We are so lucky to look back at our work and reminisce over some of our favorite moments of this year! Follow along as we share some of our favorite happenings from 2018 below.

Patricia + Peter's Industrial Wedding Design

Hands down one of NGE's favorite weddings to design this year. We were all about creating this modern and elegant wedding at Millwick's lush and industrial venue in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Ghost chairs as far as the eye can see? Hundreds of candles? It was the perfect balance between romantic and urban vibes.

Shannon + Phil's Wedding on St. Patty's Day

We've said it before and we'll say it always: we love it when couples incorporate their personalities into their wedding! Shannon and Phil’s wedding was on St. Patrick’s Day AND they both come from large fun-loving Irish families. Aside from St. Patty’s day themed cocktails, Irish Coffee recipes/mug favors at each place setting, and Irish Soda Bread at dinner (the chef at Green Acre made Phil’s grandmother’s own recipe), the band kept the atmosphere lively and exciting yet welcoming and homey all at the same time making this truly a St. Patrick’s Day to remember!

Lauren + Joe : May the 4th Be With You

Lauren + Joe hosted a beautiful coastal wedding on Coronado this past Spring! Not only was Lauren a longtime friend of Nicole, it becomes even more special when couples can celebrate the little things like a grand entrance with light sabers because, well... May 4th!

Colette + Brian's Ceremony Design

This absolutely gorgeous ceremony arch deserves a moment of it own. Major props to our gal Blooms by Breesa Lee for creating this lush four-post monster, she totally killed it! It was the perfect statement piece for C+B's chic coastal wedding at the La Jolla Shores Hotel.

Jorden + Jake's Confetti Grand Entrance

Not many venues allow confetti nowadays, but we were so glad that The Portofino Hotel made Jorden's, another longtime friend of Nicole's, magical dreams come true. We can't help but smile looking back at this adorable photo.

Sarah + Jason's Audience Cue Cards

Sarah + Jason's romantic garden wedding this past May at Darlington House may take the cake for best toasts. Sarah's sisters made these adorable audience cue-cards to use during their MOH speeches. Not that they were necessary because the ooo's and aww's came naturally to everyone, but it was fun to pretend we were at a sitcom taping for five minutes. Hands down, THE best toast that we have ever heard!

Lisa + Mike's Modern Rooftop Wedding

I mean do we really have to say any more? The view from The London West Hollywood's rooftop was just jaw-dropping and the perfect location for Lisa & Mike's elegant and intimate wedding. Also, how lucky are we that the LA weather in mid-August was just perfect.

Erica + Sean's Motorcycle Getaway

When Sean told us he would be riding his Triumph to his and Erica's wedding, we were like oh hell yes! This moment was everything from romantic, to magical, to sexy. Just another reason why we have the most rad clients.

Allison + Alex's Summer Garden Wedding

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is known for its romantic, elegant, and timeless weddings. A moment that took everyone's breath away was when a bunch of hot air balloons filled the sky during dinner. I wish we could say we planned that and although we're pretty good wedding planners, we don't have actual magical powers. Another killer moment (not pictured) from this wedding was when A+A jumped on stage with their band and sang their hearts out to the Spice Girls. Alex being from England and Allison having been a teenage girl at one point, the two are a match-made in heaven.

Madison + Chad's Long Beach Wedding Portraits

Nicole & Kathleen might be a little biased since they both live in Long Beach, but we adore the images from Madison + Chad's post-ceremony couple portraits. They truly appreciate the beauty of Long Beach's Arts District as much as we do, and they were lucky enough to whimsically wander on their wedding day as their venue, Howl, was right in the heart of Downtown. We love any couple that can find the beauty in the unexpected.

Allison + Max's Effortlessly Chic Autumn Wedding

A+M's wedding at the dreamy Hummingbird Nest Ranch was another killer NGE wedding for the books. We were obsessed with how chic + modern  and warm + autumn-themed the design was without trying too hard or being too cliche. It's easy when your bride is a super cool gal with impeccable taste. Also, doesn't that "first look" between Allie and her and Max's pup, Rae, just melt your heart?!

2018 was an amazing year for us to say the least, but here's to an even better and more exciting 2019! Cheers everyone!
