Meghan & Greg :: Martin Johnson House
Meghan and Greg's love story began over a few beers, basketball, and the best pickup line of all time... "want some tots"? When Meghan and Greg told me how they met for the first time to then hearing that they both come from large Irish families, I knew that we were going to have one ah-mazing party on our hands! With most of their family coming from the East Coast, they wanted to create a laid back San Diego style celebration with East Coast qualities. They chose St. Joseph's Cathedral in downtown San Diego for their ceremony and reception at Martin Johnson House in La Jolla for it's ocean views, beautiful property, and intimate backyard feel. Coast Catering delivered with their East-Coast style Lobster rolls and "Cape Codder" cocktails, while Jukebox Entertainment's live band kept this rowdy crowd dancing all..night..long. Their 50 person king's table on the lower lawn was adorned with natural and textural centerpieces and a palette of light pinks and blues adding a touch of femininity to the masculine property. Cheers to Half Full Photography for capturing the day so beautifully.
My favorite part about Meghan and Greg's wedding was how important their family traditions and heritage are to them. I loved the ceremony bagpiper, Irish toasts and sayings throughout the evening, and their rock "guestbook," which in Ireland, rocks are thrown into the ocean for good luck during a wedding! These two are so humble, loving, gracious, and I am so honored that I was able to help plan their East meets West coast style wedding.
